‘MEMOIRS & SOUVENIRS’

4pm SUNDAY NOVEMBER 18, 2018

THE EMBASSY OF AUSTRALIA, PARIS
4 RUE JEAN REY, 75015 PARIS

Our second concert ‘Mementos & Souvenirs’ on November 18th, will see the combinations of piano quartet and then string sextet performing two blockbuster works from the chamber music repertoire.
Schumann’s Piano Quartet Op.47  had its first performance amongst friends with the composer himself (and is therefore particularly fitting for CSF!), and Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence is a vivid, lush Italian postcard - two favourites for audiences and performers alike!

Duration approximately 1 hr

Concerts Sans Frontières (CSF) is an exciting new concert series taking place in 2018 at the prestigious Australian Embassy in Paris. At our heart, we are a collective of internationally renowned classical musicians, coming together from all corners of the world to give classical music lovers rare and free access to remarkable concerts.

Beginning as a result of the international performing experiences and lives of Australian musicians overseas, the series aims to provide opportunities to showcase the artistic excellence of Australian artists and their international colleagues, creating and sharing inspiring chamber music with the people of Paris, and eventually world-wide.

Though usually closed to public events, the Australian Embassy in Paris has opened its doors to CSF to present two concerts in 2018, showcasing free 1-hour chamber music programs that aim to engage the broadest sectors of the local community. By presenting the concerts bilingually at the embassy, we aim to share the wonderful stories behind the music, and the remarkable connections between musicians on stage.

Join us for our two remarkable concerts in Paris in 2018, and beyond, as we journey around the world.
